C4 low gear set identification

Hi!! I need help from the C4 experts. I have a 88 Mustang NHRA stock eliminator car running a rollerized C4 tranny. The owner that I bought it from stated that it has a low gear set in it. He couldn't tell me if it had the 2.75 or 2.92 low 1st gear in it. If I tear the tranny down and by looking at the gear set, how can I tell which 1st gear set it is. Can I count teeth, any specific markings? Thanks for the help.

On a planetary gear set you should be able to determine the ratio by dividing the large gear (called the annulus i think) by the smaller central driving gear (often called the sun gear) The smaller gears with the pins holding them are in between these two other gears and simply transfer torque from the inside set to the outside set and have no influence on ratio numbers.
