Wrong Dipstick ?

I Have A C4 Or C5 With A Pan Fill Dipstick Tube, But I May Have A Case Fill Dipstick, It May Be A Inch Short Therefor I Put A Quart Too Much Transmision Fluid In.when I Change Fluid And Filter I Put 6 Quarts In Car Runs Great But Will Not Show Up On The Dipstick. Can Anyone Tell Me How Long A Pan Fill Dipstick Is , It Is In A 1966 Mustang But I Think The Transmision Has Been Change. Thanks For Any Help

Hi mate , Welcome.
Easiest way to check is to hold the dipstick against outside of the tube and see where it sits. The correct oil level is just above the pan rail on the main case or just up from the bend on the tube where tube starts to straighten out..
