Trans fluid level?

Is there any problem with having too much fluid in the trans? did a trans swop this weekend & after filling & road testing the car, it seemed to have too much fluid in it, Drained some out (thank heavens for drain plugs!) but after driving the car home (approx 50 miles) & dipping the trans again It seems theres a little too much fluid still, should I drain more out or is it ok to leave? Its just above the 'don't fill' mark on the dip stick btw.
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Trans fluid level?

If it is just above , no real big problem. It's if oil level is high enough that the spinning interals churn up the oil will cause issues.

Re: Trans fluid level?

Ususally the dip stick full level is a goodly distance below the rotating parts. You'll be fine.
