'68 c-4 reverse but no forward gear

Just rebuilt a valve body in a 68 mustang c-4. It had reverse and no forward gears but it kinda sounded like the converter was goin out..revving high and barely moving. The converter is brand new and a 2500 stall. I dropped the valve body and there was an attachment bolt lodged in the filter, a broke bolt and 90% of the spools were stuck. i fixed all of that and got it all straightened out. didnt change anything. it worked on jack stands but not on the ground. The only thing is, there was about 2 oz. of motor oil added to the fluid on accident...long story. The only thing i can figure is the motor oil coagulated the tranny fluid or it messed up the front clutch pack. Any suggestions?

No ,the motor oil won't hurt anything. I have worked on fleet vehicles with Allison transmissions and they removed the dexron 3 and used 15/40 diesel oil to cure a heating issue.

Most likely an issue in the forward clutch pack. Need to maybe air check it and go from there .

okay. i dont know if it would be more cost effective to get a brand new one instead...maybe something crazy with a trans brake..?lol
