what transmission

I am installing a 351 in a 87 thunderbird turbo coupe that had a t5 in it and was given a transmission that is suppose to be a c4 but it doesn't look like one to me. It has a removable bellhousing but it has a short tailshaft. The bellhousing is aluminun and so is the tailshaft but the center section is cast iron. The total length from the bellhousing to tailshaft is around 30 inches. There are some number on stamped on the casing D4AP-7006-AA. I tried decoding and all I could get is 74 ford (galaxy?) automatic transmission. I would appriciate the help.

Re: what transmission

You have an FMX, not a C-4.
