Re: c4

Where did you ever get the idea that the rear splines would be 24 or 26?

The only output shaft spline counts I ever remember seeing for any Ford transmission were 25, 28, and 31. C4s have 28.

You will need to find a 28 spline yoke that will fit your C4 tail housing. You may be able to simply replace your current yoke if the U-joint is the same. Otherwise you have two options. First, find an offset U-joint that will connect the two, but that is not a likely solution. Or, take your driveline and new yoke to your local driveline service center and have them make the needed modifications to make it fit, usually costing around $150.

Sure, that is very common. DANA/Spicer (for example) makes adapter U-joints that are one size on one side and a different one on the other. The most common adapter joint used is the Spicer 5-134x which is a series 1310 to 1330 type. You can find these joints at well-stocked local stores (I found one I needed at NAPA) or online. Ford Motorsport even has their own like here:

Just get the yoke that fits your tranny, and measure which size joints are in that and your driveshaft. Verify your overall length and go for it. Local driveline stores are usually happy to help if needed.

Re: c4

these questions need to go in the garage forum or the falcon forum -- keep this clear just for C4 trans questions

slow down -you have 3 questions all rolled up into one--

first-- i believe the standard linkage points the opp way from the auto-- you need to reverce it -[ i may be wrong here with out looking its hard to tell]

now -- what hose you talking about -- power steering ??-- heater ??

vac line for power brakes??
window washing line??-

vac line to auto trans??

what hose?

Sounds like he is confusing the input shaft spline count with the output shaft spline count.
