manual valve body shifts 2-3rd auto

Hi
Have a manual valve body c4, 1st gear fine 5500 shift to 2nd then 4200 shifts by its self to 3rd! any idea's?

Sounds more like a B+M shift kit , not a manual VB. Some guys on here have had same issue the the B+M kits . Chris Kelly was one i think had similar prob??

these are the only details i have from the guy i got it from

'Schuck Transmission' in California; full overhaul with Hughes bits, steel plate kit, new pump, drums, valvebody, clutches, bands, seals, filter.

Allan , maybe contact Transmission Parts Automatic Transmission Parts Order Transmission Parts Online they sell the Makco brand i think. See what they say . I couldn't find that part number .

You don't have a full manual valve body. What you do have is a valve body with a TransGo Reprogramming (tm) kit in it. You have manual control over 1 and 2 but once in the Drive position it will shift to high at normal governed speeds. You should be able to hold second gear manually for as long as you like but at WOT it will shift from the Drive position into 3rd with the governor.

Thanks for that Paul, is there any way of adjusting the shift rpm to 3rd?

Also wot i am saying is the shifter is still in 2nd and not in "D" i cant hold it in 2nd??

That's right . As i mentioned search on here for CKELLY i think that was what he had with a B+M kit , switched to transgo fixed it .
