Re: Junkyard Upgrade - Dual Electric Fans

hello all,

I just came across this thread after looking and looking for info on the fans that are on my '91 mustang. I had a slight idea that they were off some mid-size ford but not sure which one. the fans I have are identical to the ones cramer installed on his project. the fans Delta Current Control #33212 that qtrracer posted here are slightly different in the lower portion. the ones I'm running do NOT have that additional square and round hole in the bottom corner. everything else is identical. these fans pull a lot of air and are just as described in cramer's write-up. now that I know what fans I have I would recommend them to anyone looking to convert over to electric fans. they do the job excellently. just to give you guys a better idea of what these fans can accomplish, my '91 coupe is a 425hp monster and the fans don't skip a beat. I drive it everyday. and Texas summers are no joke. I will have to say this though, 425hp is probably their limit. If you have a bigger monster than mine I would choose a larger fan combination.

anyway, just thought you guys could use my .02

Re: Junkyard Upgrade - Dual Electric Fans

Thanks for that. I have a 300 HP '85 and would like to go e-fan. Looks like the Countour is the way to go. I would like to see more concrete numbers for amp draws, etc. but I may just go with the DCC setup and not worry about the spikes.

Re: Junkyard Upgrade - Dual Electric Fans

That seems like a good $ from Rockauto, but what about the wiring/connectors?

If you go to the local pick'n save you can get everything there.

I'm currently running a flex fan on my 4 core, the information that I received here is starting to sway me to this setup.

Re: Junkyard Upgrade - Dual Electric Fans

I have the new unit (not from Rock Auto, but same maker). The connector issue was my only problem. I had to make up my own using spade terminals and shrink tube. Couldn't find them anywhere, and the junkyard guys here don't want to let them go unless you buy the fan. That issue resolved, it's working fine for me now.

Not if youre using a stock size radiator. 17" is about it, and even then thats pushing it.
