Re: Big block or Small Block

.....or a small block 455W that you could stuff in an Oldsmobuick and still be technically right in a sort of screwy way. And now I'm getting back to GM and the 350/455 motor having no big or small block block. This is just too confusing anymore. All I know is that when I see a 302 intake I say, "Gee, that' small". And when I see an FE intake, I go, "Wow, that thing is huge!". So that is how I decide whether it is a big block or a small block.

With that being said small block and big block are chevy designations, ford never called a 460 a big block, it was simply called a 385 series engine. the cleveland, the 351m and 400 all fall into a 335 series motor catergory, windsors are windsors, such as 289's 302's and 351w's, there is no such thing in a ford vocabulary as big or small block
i feel so informed now im just shakin. now on a serious note......the 351 C is a large, small block. but again........Ford doesn't use sb and bb definitions like those jerkoffs at GM. This is why Ford uses engine "families" such as FE,Windsor, Cleveland and so on.
