This year we're tossing in a junk Spec Stg. 3 clutch (cause it came with one of the trans we have) just to get going, and then switching to a McLeod adjustable once the EFI is tuned. I'm really really hoping that I can slip the copper ceramic disc enough to make launching work.

Guess it's either that or it can just blow the drag radials to hell lol. Chances are I won't be breaking things though, with those tires as a safety fuse.

Re: Which is harder on parts? Transbrake or ceramic clutch

Thanks for the input.

I was leaving at up to 6800 RPM with up to 20 psi boost with the stick. I did not break an axle until I removed the 28" slicks and put the 305 drag radials on. And the drag radial leave was about 4000 RPM and less boost.

The transbrake is setup with a 3500 stall, with full load of a transbrake I should be able to make full (30 psi) boost before I let go of the button. This will make for a pretty good hit.

So considering the factors involved and the fact that I hate being broken on race day and I drive my ride to the track, I have chosen to upgrade from the trac lock 28 spline combo. The Detriot Truetrac with 31 spline axles should take the abuse.
