internal balanced motor w/ external converter

does anyone know if having an externally balanced torque converter (welded on weights) will affect an internally balanced motor in any way?

if so, can i just grind off the weights and call it a day?

Re: internal balanced motor w/ external converter

As far as I know Ford never used weight on a convertor......They have always used weights in the Flex Plate and / Or Balancer.

Are you shure you have a Ford Convertor? Is it Aftermarket?

well every rotating part must be balanced when manufactured. What you are seeing might just be the weights getting the TC to perfactly balanced.
