intake swap or more
I just got my new best time of 6.98 1/8th mile and am ready for some more changes. Right now I have a performer rpm intake and am going to change to a victor jr since the eight inch converter was installed. Should I change the cam also? Current cam is a 220 duration .500 lift mech flat tappet. I have a comp 244 duration hydraulic that was givin to me. but do not like making to many changes at once.

Re: intake swap or more
funny story, I decided to go with the intake only. So everything went well until my distributor oil pump shaft fell into the pan, had to pull the oil pan to do an intake swap. anyhoo I will find out this weekend if the jr beats the rpm with my combo.

Re: intake swap or more
Most likely with that cam and your non specified heads I would bet that you slow down a bit. The Vic Jr is a higher rpm intake and your cam will not support it

Re: intake swap or more
That's a nice 1/8 mile time. What's your current combo?

Re: intake swap or more
Ya - 6.98 with a 220 cam and 1/2" lift - does the car weigh 1500 lbs? Or is that cam in a 511 big block LOL.

It is a 306 with a n2o plate, in a Maverick that tip's the scale at 3136 with me in it. With this new intake, it has a different sound to it, can't wait to test drive her.

Re: intake swap or more
You didn't mention you were running spray?...I think the nitrous will like the single plane intake better.

Re: intake swap or more
I agree now the NOS tid bit is a good thing to know. The Vic intake loves the juice to begin with and being as its a single plane you may be fixin to see some good gain
