Re: a few more track pics....
Nice!!!!!! You really catch some nice air off the line.
I hope that you don't mind entertaining a couple of questions about your combo.
What RPM to you launch at and when do you shift?
What first gear in the tranny?
What brand and size of slick?
What traction devices?

Re: a few more track pics....
Dennis I had been launching 6k or just above, this night I backed it down to 5k.I really expected the car to bog slightly at that RPM,and was pleasantly suprised it left the line that well.
shiftlight is at 6800.

standard sidewall 26x10 ET drags.I wish I would have ordered/got the stiff sidewalls now but I took what the speedshop had in stock
still using the lakewood slappers-they are the type that replace the lower spring plate, not the type that sandwich over the spring

Re: a few more track pics....
I agree the car works and looks awesome.Very impressive.. .I hope I can get mine to work like that someday...Looks like dew on the roof and trunklid?..Musta been cool out?..How do you like the TKO trans?..Obviously it must work pretty good for you..I am looking for an overdrive trans that will live behind my 408...

Re: a few more track pics....
Thanks guys.
Yes,starting to get some cool nights down here in the SE.That night was in the 50's,and the dew was almost freakish-very,very heavy. My shirt was soaked from dew that was on the trailer when I strapped the car down.
I'm loving the TKO. I pretty much don't worry about missing shift or breaking the trans anymore.Keep in mind mine is faceplated,so it's not as street friendly as a syncro trans.
I don't think I'd take a chance on an out-of the-box TKO500/600.I read/heard too many stories like Thordanes for the poor shifting complaints(especially 3rd gear lockout).
Liberty sells a modified synchro TKO they claim
will shift clean to 7k RPM. Spali on this board seemed pretty serious about getting one for his Cougar, and if he does maybe we'll get some feedback from him.

Re: a few more track pics....
Yes, this is the plan. Still in Afghanistan for another 30 days......and then I'm done with deployments and ready to retire after 20 years in the AF... I have my eyes set on the modified synchro from Liberty. A step below a faceplated one.
A set of 31 spline Yukon axles and Yukon 4.30 gearing is in my future too.... . With my planned .64 5th gear TKO 600 massaged and the 4.30 gearing......looking at cruising at 2100rpms @ 60mph with neck snapping acceleration. I heard I'm in for a real treat going from 3.55 to 4.30 gearing.... ((I'm at 2300rpms @60mph now with 3.55 gearing/.083 5th gear ratio.))

Re: a few more track pics....
That is awesome!
What is your cam spec's and compresson ratio if you don't mind saying?
I have to say the teardrop hood looks fantastic on your coupe. I would not have guessed that. I suppose the added intake, carb spacer, air filter height, helps the performance as well.
