I at first wondered how you only lost 10 hp between the crank and the tires. But as I understand your post, you didn't engine dyno the motor but just went with the factory rating. Yes?
Anyway, since about 1972, the factory ratings have been stated as "net horsepower" vs. the old gross horsepower that some of us grew up with. As I understand it, net hp is measured at the crank with all access. hooked up & full exhaust. If I'm wrong about this we will find out soon enough here. Even though, a loss of only 10 hp seems quite good.
Now you know at least where you are and if you decide to do some performance mods, you'll have the fiqures to compare.
