will it do 600?

351w stroked to 383

Bore 4.03
Stroke 3.75
Compression 10.5:1
Carb Holley 750
Manifold SuperVictor
Exhaust 34" x 1.75" headers into 36" 4"OD 3"ID sidepipes
Cam Crane 448601 solid roller 246/254 @050 .579 .598
Heads Trickflow Wedge TEA 205cc

The engine is being built for road racing. A similar engine is the one build by Summit and Trickflow in the 393 stroker's wild article
http://www.trickflow.com/articles/st..._st_2_body.htm
http://www.trickflow.com/articles/st..._st_5_body.htm

that engine did 530HP. Here are the differences between the two

10:1 vs 10.5:1
cam 449761 is not as strong
Heads 296/212 @.600 vs 322/237 @.600
VicJr vs SuperVic

dyno2000 is predicting 575 at the flywheel. Brian at TEA is predicting over 600.

Do you think it can cross the 6 barrier?

No. I"d call it closer to 530-550 hp, maybe.

The latest issue of muscle mustangs & fast fords has a coast high performance 418w that made 617 flywheel hp and 530 ft/lbs of torque that pretty stout. With a bigger duration & lift cam also out of the box vic. jrs. and super vic manifold. Your 383 might be short of these numbers. This is probably in the 6-7000.00 range for those numbers. But your comb should make a bunch of torque & hp. good luck

530-550! Aye Carrumba! OK, here is more proof like flying62falcon added.

CarCraft Sept02 408 stroker 626 HP @ 6900

HEADS
CHP VicJR stage III
From the CHP website, they state these flow 320/215 at max flow (I am guessing .700)
http://www.coasthigh.com/Cylinder_Heads/vj_cnc.htm

CAM
crane 448841 262/268 .672 .672
http://dab7.cranecams.com/SpecCard/D...1=Display+Card

CARB
950

COMPRESSION 10.5:1

If you take their heads at .672, they flow 320 and 215. My heads flow 320/243 @ .600 and therefore, the flow levels of the two engines are very similar, even though the cams are different. That 408 engine does have a bigger carb and a few c.i. If those items are worth 30HP, that puts me right there at the 600 borderline The truth will be revealed in a month.

Here is another good comparison...Chilly's 408w
http://www.fordmuscle.com/phpBB/view...forum=16&4

He did a 568@6300

Heads again are very close but I beat both engines on the exhaust side. Chilly's cam is very similar but a little weaker at .577.577 vs .579 .598. He does have a touch more compression and the big 950, but I have the super vic.

I can hardly wait to find out! Danny Bee belt drive went in last night. Just waiting for head gaskets and a few little things.

Hey! did you guys see the ENGINE MASTER challenge?
