Could the IRS in the 1999 and up Cobras be hiding any power?

If you swap it into a earlier style car it will take off time in accelleration, turning, and have better handling.

IRS? HP loss? Hmmmm...

It would take some road testing to figure that one out. Otherwise bust out the TI-86 Calculator and start figureing out some mechanical figures and forces to dig deeper into that question.

Seariously though, dyno testing would be the best test bench for such a question or mystery.

Well, from what I have heard, you can expect a loss of 6% through each u-joint. But, you have to compound this percentage.
