funnel web VS holley strip dominator

has any one ever put these two manifolds against one another with out the port stuffers. or could it be the port stuffers making the hp difference.

Just curious.

The Parker manifold is designed to be used with the stuffers. They are designed spcifically to reduce the port volume without hurting flow. This raises velocity in the port and the quality of flow. Flow quality = power. Not big flow numbers.

okay i understand that but the port stuffers increase flow no matter what intake is on top of them.would it not be fair to at least give the holley strip intake the same benefit of either stuffers or even port plates.

The Funnel Web intake is cast to match the head with the stuffers installed.

The outlets of the Strip Dominator would be much larger than the head's intake ports (if they had stuffers installed). This would cause seious reversion. To effectively use the Stip Dominator with stuffers, the runners of the intake manifold would have to be filled with weld or epoxy to match the head.

Good Luck!

that makes sence. but still MPG claims 25 hp increase with their stinger port plates and that seems to be the hp difference between these two intakes.please believe me when i say i'm not trying to dig up any negativity on the funnel web just the opposite i would love to see a aqual comparison between the two intakes if that means running the stinger port plates under the strip dominator then so be it.if the funnel web comes out on top then off comes my strip dominator and on goes the funnel web.

All those intake port plates are good for is causing vacuum leaks.

In most cases, exhaust port plates 'ramp' the exhaust gases up at at angle where they have a tough time exiting. They ramp the exhaust gases UP right where the pipe is sharply turning DOWN. This is not good.

Remove the port plates and be happy.

Good Luck!

All the same i would love to see a comparison between these two intakes i found an old article where they put the 4-v on a flow bench with the plates installed flow increased as high as 25% over stock .

thanks for your input.
