Engine dyno? Did you mess with the carb or timing at all?

What's it going in?

Mustang Joe,
The engine was dynoed by itself.....not in the car yet.
The carb started out with a 750 BG Speed Demon but found it to be defective, so installed a proform 750 and it ran well. Timing was adjusted to run at an optimum 40 degrees
Engine is going into a 70 Mercury Cougar, w/5 speed Tremec manual, and Ford 9" posi w/3:55 gears.

Yea I thought maybe the Cougar.

Not bad numbers. If you've got the a/f ratio correct and the timing optimized then you're good to go.

I don't need to tell you a set of aluminum heads would do wonders for that combo. Even if all you did was change the heads, I'd guess another 50hp minimum.
