Wonder how much these dyno at?

From his website, he says 5.6 Cubic Inches... Also he hits 12,000 RPMs, so would the equate to 4.0 HP per Cubic Inch??? So could be 20 - 30 HP at the Flywheel.... Mow the lawn in style.....

There is not enough information to put this into Desktop Dyno, I need to know a lot of things not listed.

Engine Spec's From his website:

TYPE FOUR STROKE V8
NO. OF CYLINDERS 8

ROTATION clockwise
RPM MAX 12,000
HORSE POWER ?????????
WEIGHT COMPLETE 25 pounds
FIRING ORDER 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

How does 1/8 scale equate to 1" bore? That would be more like 1/4 scale...

2hp/ci would be about right if the tune was good and the flow of everything is good to scale (heads, carb, etc.), and if he is able to make at least 10psi of boost. Given the scale is 1/4, but clearances in the blower are probably closer to 1/2 or even 1/1 (can't make them THAT much tighter than the real-deal), I doubt it can make that much boost. Also, I'm not so sure about the 12K rpm... He's reving the non-s/c one in the video to 5500, and the blown one sounds like maybe 9000rpm, not 12000. I'd be VERY impressed with 10hp... heck, I'm impressed that it runs period!

What motorhead said is completely right. Its not 1/8th the capacity, not 1/8th the power.

On top of everything else, getting proper port shapes and valve action (and correct cam ramps) at that scale is difficult if not impossible. I seriously doubt he's getting 1HP/ci. But I've been wrong before.

But don't forget that material strength also increases faster on a shrinking scale than linear - it's dependent on cross sectional area and load. You're decreasing the volume by a cubic, but the strength only by a squared term. What that means is that a 1/8th scale model might be capable of 16,000 RPM where the original could do 7K, because the materials are relatively stronger.
