Wonder how much these dyno at?

master machinist 1/8 scale mini v8's. Injected flathead, nitro blown hemi, just way to cool......

Sure beats the Plastic Monogram V8 I built over 35 years ago. That one ran at about 10 RPM's....lite bulbs for spark plugs...

Any idea about the power those buggers make? If they are true to the 1/8th scale, I would expect about 50 - 75 HP, but I would be very surprised if they did make that kind of power.

Those are so f@cking cool! I want to put one in a little hot rod for my dog.

My question would be, how do they hold up under load?
I've seen lots of those mini engine vids on the web but I have yet to find one attached to a load. Do they have bearings? Bushings? piston rings? a decent oiling system?
But hell yeah, those things are super cool!!!

I think there is a load... there has to be. Those engines are making enough tourque to move off the table.

If you look at the flywheels, they have a belt going down into a large wooden box. Bet he made himself a break for each engine too.

You have to remember the 1/8th scale is one-dimentional, where engine size is three dimentional... so 1/8^3 = 1/512th the cubic inches. Given that, if it makes just 1hp that's doin pretty darn good.

Per the engine specs from the above link from 1 bad ford....With 1 inch Bore and .9 inch stroke, should be about 6 - 8 cubic inches total for the engine. 8:1 compression ratio

At 2.0 + HP per cubic inch for an engine with a blower on it, I would guess at least 10 - 15 HP at flywheel. Grab A skate board with a steering wheel, and look out....!!!!!

I came up with 22.61 cubic inches.......x 2hp/ci = 45.24 hp. Dang, that's stout!
