Dyno Graph - Extremely Jagged - Why??

Can you guys take a look at this post and tell me why his lines are so jagged?

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showpo...postcount=9037

On my graphs, all my lines are smooth no matter if I use 0 smoothing or 5 smoothing.

I know it's a different forum, but I'd really like to know why his look like that and mine don't.

Thanks.

I am not that familiar with the setup on a Dynojet but imagine that they have used a quite high sampling rate, which tends to give you that jagged appearance.
You will note that there is a strange spike, all by itself on run 3? As smoothing increases, it flattens and stretches that peak out....if more is used (or available), you will end up with a nice smooth line that is more representative of the actual curve. Using a low sampling rate does a similar thing as it posts an average of several samples of each rpm area.

Possible. Another likely scenario is external interference.
