My new 331 stroker - dyno results are in.

Ok, I have some footage of my new 331 on the dyno. I will have to figure out how to get it up on here. Anyways the motor made 402HP with 400 Torque. Here's the combo;

Factory 5.0L roller block (.30 over)
Mahle forged pistons
Scat crank
Edelbrock RPM heads (mild port work)
Edelbrock RPM intake
Holley 650 DP
10.3 to 1 compression
280 comp roller cam (.560 lift)
Comp roller rockers
Hedman shorty headers
2.5 inch exhaust (H pipe)
MSD distributor, MSD coil, MSD 6AL box)
Powerbond SFI balancer
Engine fully balanced
Valley girdle and main girdle
ARP stud kit
Windage tray
HV oil pump/ARP hardened shaft
Moroso 9 qt pan

I installed this engine along with a lakewood scattersheild last week... What a pain in the ass. Still putting some miles on her. How does this combo look, Any comments?

Oh BTW - It's in a 65 falcon with a 4 spd and a 8.8 inch rearend with 3.73 posi, Slide a links ect.

Any ideas on what it will run in the 1/4? Thanks.

Re: My new 331 stroker - dyno results are in.

Just think.......if you went ahead and pushed it to 347cubic inches, you would of been probably closer to 425hp. You never mentioned if that was crank hp or RW hp. Just curious, did you get a final flow # for you RPM heads. I keep seeing around 250cfm @ .550 lift, others show 217cfm. Would like to see a good factual number. Looks like a healthy combo regardless. Should be alot of fun in that Falcon/4 speed. I'm guessing you'll be in the 12's somewhere.

Re: My new 331 stroker - dyno results are in.

Should be a fun ride!

402 HP motor will get you solidly into the 11's once you get your tires, car, and shifting routine all sorted out for the track. Unless you want to cage your car, that is about as fast as you will be allowed to go at the track.

To load the video, go to photobucket.com and make an account then upload the video. Then click on the appropriate tag (usually the bottom one) and paste it here.

Good numbers that should be a great little power plant for you. Did you have the oil pressure issues? if so did you get them figured out? How does it drive?

Re: My new 331 stroker - dyno results are in.

Thanks guys - The 402 HP is at the flywheel, Not the rear tires. As for the flow #'s on the RPM heads I am not to sure. Didn't have then put on the flow bench. I also only had some mild port work done.

ujt389 - yes I was the one that was having the oil psi problems. The pressure was very slow to rise. I replaced the 1/8 inch line with some 1/4 inch copper line. I also replaced the fram oil filter with a napa gold and now my oil pressure shoots right up to 75 psi. So far the car drives nice, I have to put some more miles on her and then let her rip. Thanks once again guys.

I will eventually get the video up. First I will figure out how to do it. I will look into that photobucket that Dennis mentioned. Thanks.

I will also post the graph. I have to figure out how to do that as well. I hate computers.

Could you tell me what this combo yielded for manifold vacumn at idle? This is important for us guys looking to run an automatic with a modulator.
