400 intake

Just got my new heads from chi this evening, they are nice, but my question is what manifold will work with em, they are goin on a 400 ford and reason i ask is that i set a 2v intake gasket on it and it aint real close cause the ports are raised .300" yall reckon the manifold i have for the 2v heads will work or not? the ports are greatly matched to the ports on the gasket but the bolt holes dont line up, which makes me think the intake aint gonna either, any help with this would be nice, thanks alot

Re: 400 intake

would it work? maybe, but given the fact that most 400 intakes are old and well, crappy...you would be doing a disservice to those fine head to put an old 400 intake on it. if it were me i would buy the spacer kit and get many more choices by using 351C intakes. where did you get the CHI heads? more than likely they can supply the spacers.

Just how commited are you to doing this "right"?
Chi has a manifold for ya'.
...New for 2007, we have our one piece 400M spider manifold. We have eliminated the need for spacers with our new 400M Cleveland manifold to suit our 3V 218, 225 and 185cc heads.

The manifold comes with a CNC machined valley tray cover, making installation as simple as possible. The valley tray has three drilled holes that correspond with the original factory block valley seal locating holes.

The existing factory block valley rail holes are the correct size for a 1/4UNC tap, and which once threaded appropriately, allow the valley plate to be secured to the blocks end rails.

The new 400M manifolds are available for both 4500 Dominator Carburetors as well as 4150 Holley Carburetors... it's not cheap, but from the spec's - It'll feed that engine everything it needs to get it running.

I was wondering what piston/rods you're using in your 400?
