What block? The power on the nitrous hit would have me worried in a stock block! Do not go to the track without slicks even off the nitrous. LOL
Thanks. I didn't do any tuning at all. Just ran two baseline pulls to see what it would do with the new custom cam, 205 TEA Trick Flow heads, Vic jr intake, and the custom carb. The carb was setup from Patrick at Prosystems and that thing is very close they way he sent it to me.

It is the stock block and I have been worried since I put the engine together back in 2001. It has about 12,000 miles on the bottom end. It has been a really good engine. But I know it is at the very limit. If or when it breaks it will just give me a reason to get the dart block.

Did you try it with and without that K&N filter lid? You have one clean machine!

Those two runs were with the air cleaner/lid in place. I like to always run it on the dyno the way it runs on the street. Thanks I have read about yours also. That is a very healty 289 you have. Jay really knows how to get the cam timing perfect. I got exactly what I asked for.

Hey Eric, what brand converter do you have? What rpm does it actually stall at and how much stall does Jay say that you need? Depending on the converter, strokers can make them actually stall higher than they are rated because of the torque they make.
I'm dealing with a converter that is too loose. It is rated for 2800-3200 stall but actually "flashes" at 4500rpm!

Yeah I know that the engine combo really will make the difference. Mine flashes at about 4200 rpm. Per Jay's Cam card for a max effort track pass it says it needs to flash at about 5400 to 5900 rpm. So I am pretty tight but on the street I don't need that. My convertor came from a convertor place in Ontario California and I can't remember the name anymore. I got it way be in 1996. It has served me very well.
