This is the part I do not understand, typically a manual will trap higher than an auto and for that time I would expect 125+. I must suck at shifting. Anywhooooo, great job rowing that shifter.

Re: Dynoed the 347 today

Didn't you say at one time that your TKO 500 was face plated? I've considered getting some toploader gears/sliders done up like that at Liberty, but so far, it works OK stock. What's it like driving a face plated trans on the street?

Thanks!

Warning...hijack!...sorry

Hey Spali,

Your engine should be puttin out some great numbers. Any idea why it is underperforming? Ever get it dyno tuned (carb and timing)? Valve springs not up to the task? What kind of exhaust do you have? Bigger carb may help some

Re: Dynoed the 347 today

cahorne-Me and dennis111 discussed this a year or so ago in one of my posts......my car has never ran exceptionly well in "2nd eighth mile".....only picks up 22-23 mph.
As far as shifting,I pull'em as fast as I can, right foot to the floor and only kicking the clutch. No one will ever mistake me for Ronnie Sox though

Mike-Yes,its faceplated 2-3-4.1rst and 5th are syncroed.Once you learn where each gear wants to be shifted when just putting around, upshifting is pretty painless.Still, more and more,I find myself skip-shifting from 1rst to 5th,or taking of in 2nd and then going to fifth just to avoid having to "think" about how to shift.
Downshifting is possible, but almost always with a clunk or grind.
I only driven about 2k miles a year,so the thoughless WOT powershifts for me out weigh the negatives.
Also,my Mcleod bell has both the Tremec and T5 bolt patterns so syncroed shifting is just a tranny and driveshaft yoke swap away.

Spali-No need to envy-just get out the checkbook lol.On a serious note,I used to run the same cam you are using, and can tell ya you will pick up a bunch of streetability with the TLSR-at least I did.

blkfrd-hijack away!!!!

Re: Dynoed the 347 today

That's awesome you can relate by how you ran the XE284H cam too. It seems to run hard and is fun on the street. But I know the TLSR will outperform it.

Re: Dynoed the 347 today

This is just some more proof to go by dragstrip #'s rather than dyno #'s. Three tenths and 4+ mph is huge! You have a great combination of parts that really gets the job done!! Very nice!

I am with Spali in that I forsee a TLSR in my future.

If you're gonna race at Atl Dragway, then I forsee a rollbar in your future!

You just may be right! Right now I feel that my car doesn't "deserve" a roll bar because it has only run in the 11.4's but if I were to make a few mods
and all of a sudden it was running 11.1's then it would be deserving.
