Heya Mike!
I know your post is a bit dated lol, but I now have a month or so first hand experience driving a pro shifted trans on the street, so I thought I'd come back and post.
First, I'd never go back...and I daily drive my rig. Upshifts at ANY rpm are accomplished with ease, just by clutching in, pulling the gear out to neutral, lightly declutching (enough to just lightly engage the clutch disc) while barely tapping the throttle (a couple hundred rpm is all that's necessary), then pulling the lever into the next gear. The slight increase in the input shaft speed allows the gears to mesh smoothly, and it takes a HELL of a lot more time for me to describe the process than it takes to do it. Picture driving in a relaxed manner in traffic and rowing slowly through the gears to fourth. The time it takes to make a normal, relaxed upshift, is all the time it takes to shift the way I described above...it just takes a bit more foot movement is all. Downshifting takes a slight amount more effort (mostly you have to tap the throttle just a slight bit harder to increase the input shaft rpm to match), but it accomplished with the same process. Also keep in mind, a face plated transmission has a bit better manners than a pro shifted unit. So you'll be a bit farther ahead of the game than even I am.
Anyhow, I'll see about getting some video for you. I think you're much like me in that you'll easily adapt to what your car needs without much thought, all the while enjoying the benefits of butter easy shifts at high rpm lol.
By the way, 68fastang, be expecting a PM here shortly so I can pick your brains on your suspension work! And very nicely done on the 10 second ride, and sorry to hijack the thread lol!!
