How Do I...

How do i take the front cowl off. seems to me that you have to take the winsheild chrome off.. but how do i do that??

I would say you are correct on the windshield having to come out...and then you would have to drill out a large number of spot welds also.

thanks, looks like it could be some work.. how hard is it to take off the windsheild, and put it back on?? or should i just let a professional do it?

How Do I...

Taking the winshield OUT is pretty easy. Use fishing line or bailing wire and stick one end inside, and other outside, and go around the window with a helper inside. Be prepared to catch the window though. Putting it in requires a pro. But make sure they dont bunch up the headliner when they install the window, it will thrash the headliner. The glass place wrecked mine, it was dry so it unravelled the stitching and seperated and fell. The glass place didnt charge me for the install cuz I freaked.

How Do I...

thanks, well im gonna get a new headliner anyway.. but hopefully they mess up on it and i get the install for free[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]. how much is the install(approx.) and how much is a new cowl?

The above mentioned website with photos of the cowl removal is mine. http://www.geocities.com/fairlaniac/photos.html If you have any questions just give me a shout. If you aregonna do it, get a quality spotweld cutter. I started out y using Eastwood's version which is of off shore origin. I kept busting these. I then switched to Blair cutters and used only one to finish the job. Always use a light cutting oil to help keep the cutter lubed and cool.
