Not sure I would do that, but 3" exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheels might be cool.
I saw an old Nascar picture of a 68/69 Fairlane, or maybe it was a Torino (is there much difference in 68/69?). It wasn't a Torino Talladega. Anyway, I always thought that it would be sweet to build a Nascar-style fastback. Cut-out fender flanges, the widest, tallest tires you could fit, black Nascar style wheels, lowered heavily and aluminum front and rear spoilers. Combine that with a hot FE, four-speed and huge disc brakes. Oooh...

Jace,
It was years ago that I saw that picture. It was either in an issue of Super Ford or Hot Rod. Sorry I couldn't be of further help.

Jace,
I found it. Check out www.coolrides.com/member43.
It's Richard Petty's 69 Torino that won Riverside. I though I remembered a front aluminum spoiler, but the restoration doesn't have it. Anyway, it does have the lowered stance, side-exit exhaust and the Nascar wheels. Cool indeed!
