Crite's Radiator Experience

I imagine that some of you are running the Crite's aluminum radiator. How do they perform? Are they simply Griffin universals with a marked-up price?
I'm going to need the SB version. I'm running a parts-store 3-row for a 70 Mustang with a 302,in front of a 351C. The tubes are only 3/8" and the rad is merely 20" wide.
The engine will run 205 on the highway in the GA heat, but it will hit 215 at a traffic light.
If they are worth it, I'll get the Crite's piece at 24" wide. Of course, I'll have to cut out the radiator core gussets at the frame rails.
Opinions on their radiator? Thanks, guys.

Those rads are great, no better then great, awesome


I was driving my blown 604 today with that rad and it ran at 180 most of the day.

They are howe rads and what I did was contact howe directly to avoid the wait at crites.


Its important to buy one of the electric fans from howe as well, they are spal fans, use their fan wiring kit too

its a 19*26. The 65 is a little smaller then the 66's. But honestly today was a warm day and I had no heat problems. IM making close to 1000 horsepower too !!

What model number was the radiator you bought from Howe?

Yes I have some pictures, but I dont know how to post them on here, maybe I can email them to ya...

I bought the rad mounting kit from crites,I recommend you do the same.I even think It comes with messed up instructions [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]

The kit comes with bottom mounts that you just use self taping screws and the top plate that comes with the rad mounting kit holds the top of the rad. You have to enlarge the rad opening abit, by cutting out the raised portion of the old opening and also cut out some sheet metal on each side of the front frame support. (when you place the rad in you will see where it needs to be cut. I think I had it done in an hour and thats having two beer breaks inbetween

I have Crite's lower mounts and have already cut the radiator support, I just haven't bought the radiator yet. Nor am I close to being ready to mount it yet.

Still trying to collect some odd parts here. I am pretty close to having the car completely sand blasted and primed, next I will start on the body work.

Do you have to cut out the radiator support in a 66-67 with the Crites/Howe radiator??
