Big Problem

When my fairlane was put back together after the accident, I guess the guy didnt do it right, so I had some people look at it, and they seem to feel that it needs a whole new front clip. They are talking like 4 grand worth of bodywork. So I am wondering if I should try to find a new 64 shell, or have like a drag front clip put on....Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like the perfect excuse for a Mustang II front end. Of course, you will still have to find a core support, et cetera.

So I am thinking.....

The rod factory has a mustang 2 crossmember..
2446 Crossmember only Mustang II to '60-'65 Fairlane Kit with strut rods $549.00

Then I could run my own frame rails from the front leaf spring mount all the way to the front bumper,(built in frame connectors)then use that crossmember, and then build my own inner fenders..Add a 6 point cage, and I am ready to go.

what do you think?

Just remember, the mustang 2 suspension can be a real expensive proposition, and at the same time you will loose a considerable amount of suspension travel (whether this is of concern to you, I don't know). If you are, or do know a decent fabricator maybe you shouldn't rule out a totally custom front end? Either way it'll be a real trick setup!
