Front Coilover Conversion

Wouldn't it make $en$e to just get the cross member (from RC Motorsports) and then get the 'Stang II parts from salvage? My wants is to get rid of th shock towers (and some weight) and to clean up the engine compartment as well. The conversion above looks like you still have to use the stock towers!!?? Any input on the 'Stang II conversion would be appreciated. My '63 is still just a shell, about done with the cannibalism from the previous owners' sawz-all.

Yes, that is the question. Has ANYONE removed the crossmember from a boneyard MII and installed it in a '62-'65 F'lane? If so, how much time and money was involved. RC has nice stuff. But the prices are kinda up there.

Thanx..

Front Coilover Conversion

I am well into installing the RCmotorsports RC-107 MII coilover kit with tubular control arms. The kit is real nice and they are helpful with questions. As far as using stock MII control arms on an RCmotorsports crossmember, not sure but i think that the stock MII control arm kit is discontinued from them. Only tubular control arm kits are available, and i believe the control arm mounts are different from stock style control arms. Its worth giving him a call, he's a nice fella. Im hoping to get some pics up of my progress, im very happy with how its going. Those shock towers have been replaced by nice smooth inner fender panels, and the engine compartment is HUGE. good luck -joe

Highpockets installed a massaged OEM MII x-mem in his '63. He has a post with pics on the board somewhere.
As far as replacement, stock type MII components, Speedway carries them. Everything from bushings and ball joints to complete control arms and spindles.
