rear windows on 63 2-dr sedan, all the way down???

Hey, I was just wondering about the rear windows on my 63 2-dr sedan. They only roll down about half way. Does anyone know if it is possible to modify the cranking mechanism to allow for them to roll all the way down? It would be pretty rad if I could get em to go down all the way, not sure if there is somethin in the way, or if the crank assy. is not able to be messed with. Thanks -joe

I doubt it, look at it with the door panel off and see how close the window would come to the wheelwell, I think it would hit.

unless theres a difference between a 63 and a 64 window assembly(which I doubt) then you must have something wrong with yours because they should go all the way down..which looks cool by the way.its easy enough to get back there, just pull out the bottom piece of the rear seat,take off the crank handle and pull the trim off. the entire winder assembly is right there in the open.

I dont think there's anything wrong with them, they both roll down the same amount. My car is a 2 dr sedan, not a 2 dr hardtop. It may be the case that there isnt clearance because of the rear wheel wells, but then what about the 2 dr hardtops, where all four windows could roll down all the way? I'll take a look at it once my tools thaw out enough for me to touch em (its COLD up here in boston!) thanks -joe
