How about who we are and what Fairlane we have?

Tom

1969 Fairlane Cobra Sportsroof(NO IT IS NOT A TORINO the '70-'71 Cobras were sold as Torinos), owned since 1973, 100% stock 428CJ except for aluminum police interceptor intake and smaller 600 Holley carb. 4 speed 3.50 gears with Traction Lock. Options include bucket seats, console, tach, AM/FM, race mirrors and chrome wheels. Has fresh heads, but pistons have never been out of the block, 106K mi.

How about who we are and what Fairlane we have?

Hi Guys, Ive been looking for a site that has a bit to do with the fairlane 500 ....been hard to find...thanks for the link Tom

I live in Mt Gambier South Australia...which is right down in the bottom corner of SA next to the Victoria border....

Always have loved the 63 model with one in the workshop now totally stripped and ever so slowly starting to turn the corner to put parts back on her

I have owned another previously that i sold in 2000 but i tracked it down at the end of last week to buy it back again and was successful

So now Ihave 2 63's.....1 a cruiser...and the other built to take a 460....all the shock towers have been removed

Thanks to highpockets and tomp....and they didnt even know it...they have gotten me off me backside and back into the workshop to recommence the build......oh and also the purchase....Oh Thanks heaps guysPMSL

Ill get some pics for you guys over the next week or so

P.S. love the emoticons adminoh er

Turbocoupe50, that is the most beautiful Fairlane I've ever seen. I have a 69 500, but I've always loved the Cobras. I'm with you, the original Cobras were Fairlanes, not Torinos. I saw one the other day in WA and I almost followed the guy to see where he got it, etc...I wish I had the 428 in my car but it's just too expensive. I'm putting a 351 back in mine. I'll get a pick up soon.

Well I guess my name spells that one - 1960 Fairlane.

Drivetrain:
Currently installing a .30 over 460, D0VE heads, comp cam, roller rockers, crites headers, Stealth manifold, 830cfm holley. Swapping the trans to a C6 with a 2200 rpm stall. Also, converting the rear to a 3.50 posi.

Suspension:
Converted to 605 P/S box, all ball joints/tie rods, etc replaced. New front coil springs, and deaver custom rear leaf springs. Front and Rear Quikor sway-bars.

I'll post some pics soon

Cheers,
Brian

'65 Fairlane 500 wagon, 351W/C4 3.40 geared 8"

A few years ago I saw a cherry 65 coupe go up in flames because of a cigarette butt blowing back into the car, when it was in transit. In no time that thing was an inferno.

Very sad...
