Floation front end
63 Fairlane 500 sports coupe 289 2 speed, had it all running great and next day it drives like a boat on a wake. Granada disc, replaced centerlink, idler arm bushing, both inner and both outer tie rods. Strut arm bushing, 4 new shocks, new rear leaf springs, (yes they are sitting right where they should be) put in a rebuilt steering box. (ouch) has a good rag joint. replaced both upper ball joints and one lower ball joint, two new front tires, had it alinged by 2 different frontend shops.... Am/Fm classic car stereo, 600 watt sub woofer, Brand new sport coupe interior, new carpet, I know the inside and stereo have nothing to do with the way it drives.
I just wish I could find what is wrong with the steering on the car, like I said one day was great next day drives like a bowl of jelly does anyone have some input to my problems? The lower control arm bushing were checked when I put in the lower ball joint. When I put the bushing in the idler arm i put grease on the idler could the idler arm have too much free movement? I checked the upper control arms and they have not moved and there is no squeeking or rattles when driven. I have had it car 27 years and the last 18 years it have been sitting in the garage covered up.
sory guys i just noticed I posted on this form I wanted to put it on all Ford tech forum
