What\'s the trick?

Does anyone know the trick to installing a new door hinge spring on my 66 Fairlane? I'm sure it is alot easier when the door and hinge are off, but I already have the door hung.

I have seen spring tools, but they are for GM cars and I didn't know if they would work for my car.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you can get that spring tool over the spring (it should fit) use it. I've used mine on several different vehicles.

put it in a vice and compress it then wire it closed take it out of vice put in on car and then cut wire
