67 Fairlane GT exhaust system advice
You are in for a real treat putting headers on one of these babies. You have to unbolt the motor and lift it almost all the way out of the car to get the headers in there. They are much easier on an automatic, than on a 4 spd, but either way, don't plan on driving the car for a while. The convertible, has that extra brace that makes it a little different than the hardtop, but either way, I would reccomend using an x pipe. they make all the diffence in the worl for sound and the way they breathe. There are a ton of choices for mufflers, and there are alot of good ones. Flowmaster, and magna flow are my top chioces. I would run 2.5 primary exhaust pipes and 2.25, on the tailpipes, if the motor is stock. otherwise run a complete 2.5 system. Good luck, and let me know if I can help you somehow. Brent
