FOR SALE: 1968 Ford Fairlane 500 fastback
My dad has a 1968 Ford Fairlane 500 fastback that he's had for several years and now he's wanting to find a new home for it. I feel this car is truly a rare find, here's some quick background info:
A fellow bought this car for his daughter before she went off to college at ETSU in Johnson City, TN. She drove it to school for 4 years. After finishing her fourth year, she returned home and her father stored the car in a storage building up until about 15 years ago. An aquaintance of my father bought the car and it sat outside at his place for about 3 months. My father bought it from him and Dad has kept in his basement for the last 15 years. During that time, the car has never been in the rain, has been started several times and driven minimally. So the car has been protected from the elements with the exception of its first 4 years and the 3 months prior to my dad buying it. This car is totally original and unmolested. No tweaks or modifications.
Here are some details:
*200ci straight six, automatic transmission
*Approximately 28,000 miles
*Original dark green paint, no dents, no rust, no bondo. Paint and chrome still look great. Some of the paint in the engine compartment has flaked off.
*Original white vinyl interior front to back, carpet to headliner, no rips, tears or cracks.
*Still has the clear plastic protective sheathing on the rear seatbelts. Apparently they have never been used or unbuckled.
*Original tires & wheels as from the dealership. Tires have some cracking but look great for their age.
*Clean trunk w/original mat, spare tire and jack. Spare tire has never been on the ground. Spare and jack dont appear to have ever been removed from the car.
*Car has never been re-titled. We still have the original title, in the first owners name, car was titled Jan 8, 1969.
If any of you guys are interested, let me know and I'll get you some pics. Im not posting a price at this time.
