crites front frame repair rail

Has anyone bought one of these and put it on their 64? I seen one this year at his booth at the ford expo. I bought the core support crossmember but thought I'd look into fixing the pass. frame rail myself. But the more I look at it, the worse it gets, so I'm thinking about just coming off the $150 Just wondering if they're worth the cash or if I should try to cobble something together on my own. They looked pretty nice when I seen them at the show, basically I was just too tight to come off another 150 bucks. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the opinion on the crites piece. Do you remember how far back on the frame it replaces?(back to the shock tower?) I've bent a piece to replace the frame rail that should work. I'm just kinda concerned about getting the holes in the exact spot to mount the strut rod. That's why I was wondering about the crites piece. If it's just a matter of cutting the frame rail and strut rod mounting pad out and welding the new piece in, that sounds like the way to go. Thanks again.

The piece we got didnt quite go back that far. Of course, his battery box area was rotten and it must have dripped onto the strut rod area too. That entire front area was like swiss cheese, we cut on the Crites piece until we got the repair section we needed. The damage didnt go near the shock tower so I cant say how well it would fit back there. It did however repair what we needed nicely.Tim.
