1970 fairlane/Torino parts (NEED)
This forum is fantastic! I've owned and been an Ultimate Explorations (Ford Explorers) forum member for about seven years and that has saved me so much time and money that it's mind boggling. It's great just to share info too and I hope to have the same two way communications here.
Stupid me sold my '67 GTA (Black S code) back in '73 to buy a '73 BB Road Runner. $1200 for a clean GTA. Both cars long gone. At $12,000 to $17,000 I'll probably never be able to touch one again... First car and my first engine rebuild.
As the prices have gotten higher and higher I decided to buy a project car. I was looking for a rust free '66-'67 GT, GTA or 500 project car but the prices were nutz even for rust buckets. Then I came across a fairly clean and rust free '70 Fairlane hardtop w/ 302/C4. I'd been looking for '70-'71 Torino GT's too but they were kinda salty and I thought that the very last year for the Farilane would be cool. Seems that there are less of the Fairlane Hardtops left than Torino GT Sport Roofs so I feel like my Fairlane is worth a total refurbishing. I only spent $1500 on the car, &300 for shipping from NC to IN, and I've spent about $600 so far on ebay for new and used interior parts and a few suspension/brake upgrades. I guess that I'm building a non Sport Roof Cobra. I have a '71 Lincoln 460 that has been built nicely and has lived in my '66 F-250 for the last seven years. I'm swapping the 302 for the 460.
Anyway.... I just looked at all of the preceeding diatribe and I promise that all future posts will not be so wordy! Just look at this post as my self introduction....
I'm on the look out for '70-'71 fairlane/Torino parts ALWAYS. Especially rear bumper. GT hood with scoop (not a shaker, can't even afford dat!) rear pillar chrome trim, etc... Also: I missed winning a pair of new Hooker Super Competition Headers part # HOO 6115 for '70-'71 Torino/Fairlane on ebay for $207.00 !!!!! That REALLY ticked me off.... so if anyone know where I can get these for reasonable $ please let me know. I'll also be looking for engine mounts for this monster.
Thanks again for letting me have some space here!
Oh yeh.... If anyone wants to WILL a '66-'67 Fairlane to a deserving and dedicated Ford lover please let me know.
