just go to the bone yard and get some springs that are the same width. you can change all but the main spring and just and one more for ride height. i did this on my 67 and it worked great.
heh heh heh... I remember using shackles back in the late 70's... and if you had real money you got a set of "high-jacker" shocks that you could pump full of air to get that cool rake of about 30 degrees! also helped for those big "tiger paws" to clear the wheel well so they could stick out 3 inches from the side of the car..... ah the good old days! Yeah, I did that on my Fairlane back then too.I remember trying to stop on a curve with it jacked up.After that,I removed the High Jackers before I got killed.....the things kids will do.
