clutch recomendations

What clutch/ pressure plate is best for good street performance ???? this is for a 63 fairlane 302 4bbl, 4 speed toploader close-ratio and a 3.25 8" open differential. don't want a very stiff pedal. I was thinking about a kevlar clutch and a diafragm pressure plate from western auto that sells for $309.00,for long lasting service.

Years ago when I had good knees, I used a diaphragm pressure plate for more even release. But the trick was that I used a clutch disc that was 1/2" smaller in diameter than the pressure plate. Now since it has been years and the memory ain't what it used to be, I seem to recall that the pressure plate was an 11" and the disc was 10.5". This setup lasted me for years while a standard combination lasted about a year.

the pressure plate that is in the car was stiff and as the RPM got higher it pushed the clutch pedal out. now it is soft and the clutch is slipping badly. just thinking that a complete clutch set up/combo would be in order along with a resurfaced flywheel !!!!
