need to find what fits my 66 fairlane

I have a 66 2dr hardtop that was my moms in high school and it needs some front end work, its a 289 car with manual steering and non power drum brakes, the inner tie rods, outer tie rods, and steering box is about wasted.I have a 69 galixie 2dr hardtop with a power streering box (not power rack) that can be a donor car and a 68 ranchero gt with drum brakes (donor car) so what I need to know is what all will bolt up directly to my 66 fairlane. Its my daily driver and has a 347 stroker with a p1sc procharger and dui distributor so all my money is pretty much gone!! also what all rear ends are the same width? I have a 2:80 accu-lock factory 8inch rear end with all that motor so it needs geared down or poss 9in.please any interchange on any of my donor cars or common cars would be helpfull!! I would do granada swap but the are geeting rare around here

the 68 ranchero will bolt up... i would suggest finding a disk brake car and using the spindles, MC, booster, and prop valve... drum brakes are marginal compared to modern disks.... the newer spindles are stronger than the ones on your 66... look for a 70's granada, monarch, or versailles...

Re: need to find what fits my 66 fairlane

my 69 galixie does have power disc brakes,I looked today.so is any of that interchangable? also was checking out the frontend on my 66 and my steering box, inner and outer tie rod ends are wasted,so I started checking to see what would work on my car.The 68 ranchero had manual steering but I'm missing the steering box and pitman arm.I don't want power steering or power brakes(but disc is a must)I found a whole 75 granada setup on the side of my house that has a steering box that is not a integrated(no power steering hoses) unit.It has the power rack and cylinder,so would that steering box bolt on and be a tighter gearing? before I forget, can I just use the inner-outer tie rod arms off my 68 my center link, pitman, and idler? some people said you can,if you flip around the tie rod assemble but which way?? I need all the interchange lititure I can get!! thanks!!!

the galaxie stuff will not bolt on... the granada stuff will... use the entire setup from the granada onthe f'lane, including spindles...... you can graft mustang GT calipers in the granada spndles.... see woody's main page for details.... the steering ratio won't be any different, i think....
