Valve covers - which do you prefer?

Hey Everyone,

I'm almost finished the engine for my 64 Fairlane. Can't decide on which valve covers to use. My favorite are the FE look-a-like Pentroof style, but the black wrinkle finish Cobra covers looks good too. I kinda like how the black valve covers break up the aluminum look on the top end. The Fairlane and open lettered Cobra valve covers still need to have the fins polished , which might change the look abit. . Which do you like best?

(1) Pentroof - FE look-a-likes

(2) Cobra - closed letter - black wrinkle finish

(3) Cobra - open letter - Aluminum finish (fins still needs to be polished)

(4) Fairlane script - Aluminum finish (fins still needs to be polished)

That does give it a unique look. You will get a lot of people wondering when you raise the hood...

Who makes those?

I like #4 the best! That fairlane script on those makes it look mean....I think the black wrinkle makes the engine look smaller. I want some for my 289 with fairlane on them too. Just have to wait for them to post an image of the covers for it.

I found out who makes them.....

I like the open letter Cobra, but with no polishing. Just the way they are. Clean and simple!

Option #1 all the way!
IMHO- consider something other than black rubber fuel line. Everything looks well thought out but some stainless hardline would make it look like all details were considered.
No Charge...

I vote for this one with that air cleaner setup.

Re: Valve covers - which do you prefer?

i have the fairlane script in black, like the cobras. i can't use them however, cause they are short and my rockers are too tall.
