LED Tail Lights

I tried to swap my standard taillight bulbs in my '63 w/ LED replacements. I can't get the turn signals to operate. I understand that I might need a load resister 'cos of the lower draw of the LEDs. 2 Questions:
1. Where do you splice that into the wiring harness?
2. Do I also need to replace by front turn signal bulbs to LED to get everything to work right?
Thanks in advance

Re: LED Tail Lights

all you need is a heavy-duty flasher, like the ones sold for towing..... an electronic version should work also..... they don't rely on the current draw of the lamps to determine flasher speed, they are internally regulated.... HTH

Yep, just a new flasher. Don't waste your time with the load resistors. I have this one and it works like a charm with my LEDs, front and rear.

Re: LED Tail Lights

I found out that Painless LEDs will not work with standard bulbs or other brand name LEDs. I used this flasher from Napa EP37 Electronic Flasher - Electronic - Flasher Products - Trico Products
