67 fairlane gta 289

Does anyone know or know where I can find the production #'s for a 67 gta with a small block?

but are you sure it is a gta? i thought the gtas had 390 fe engines

The 66 Fairlane GT/GTA came only with the 390 4v "S" code engine. In 67 it came with the 289 and was an option to get any of the other engines with the GT/GTA package.

Hummm , learn something everyday , as well I thought gt was 390 4 speed and gta 390 automatic . Didnot know an option for small block with body as a gt or gta package option .

If you look at shock towers under hood you can tell easy if body was a small or big block . A small block , the metal wraps in front of tower and stops on sides . Big block wraps all way for extra strength . 427 car wraps more and had holes inside fenders so one can change spark plug by running a exstention through the fender wells .

I owned a 67 390 GTA. A guy I graduated from high school with had a 289 GT. The little hood inserts said 289. He had a bunch of Twin City drag way decals in the window because it fell in a class that he was fast enough but no one else was there. It may have even been a 2 barrel carb. They have to be very rare.

I never saw one but ford did alot of things I am learning new all the time . Rare I say as well .
