new project

hey i recently purchased a 1963 ford fairlane, the car is in good shape for a project only little rust around floor pan, but anyways this is my oldest project and my first ford ever. i usually did k5 blazers but so far i am very happy with the car, please excuse the newb questions but like i said i know nothing about ford, how can i tell if it is a 260 or 289? i am almost certain its not 1 302 and think its the original engine. also what are some good sites for floore pans and other parts? if it is a 260 i am not trying to make a race car but are performance parts around for that engine?

Re: new project

Dearborn classics carries floor pans but watch out for their shipping prices, they are outrageous!

Re: new project

I used Melvin's in Conyers Ga, for most of the parts I needed to do my '63 and they have the same parts and their freight is more reasonable. Also check Auto Krafters and Mac's. Make a list and don't forget the freight!

Later!

Re: new project

if it is the original engine, then it is a 260. 289's came out in mid 64

Re: new project

I got my floor pans from autocrafters and their shipping was 1/2 that of dearborn classics. I will never buy anything from dearborn because they rape you on the shipping!
