roof rail weather stripping install?

Hey Guys, does anyone know how to replace the roof rail weather stripping on a 66? It's that weather stripping that goes up into the channel that the window goes up into. Hope that didn't confuse anyone but it's difficult to describe.

Re: roof rail weather stripping install?

Really a pretty simple job. There's a screw which holds it in at the front of the front window, at the bottom of the A-pillar. I cant seem to remember if theres one at the lower part of the C-pillar or not. Regardless, the seal is sort of like a T, and the two short legs of the "T" lock into the stainless steel channel. I always use weatherstrip adhesive before putting the seal back in, since it likes to fall out of the channel a little bit if you don't.

Re: roof rail weather stripping install?

Hey Neverunning67, I finally got around to changing that weather stripping for the roof rail. Talk about an easy job! I wouldn't have guessed the old stuff would just fall out for the most part...LOL! No wonder there was so much wind noise, I lightly glued the new ones in and took it out for a test drive. Still had some wind noise but not as much....so I ordered more weather stripping to go around the doors and trunk lid, that should help even more. It's amazing how much new stripping can help a car feel and sound! Thanks for the help!
