66/67 idler arms ?

Is there a difference between the 66 and 67 Fairlane idler arms? I have 3 idler arms and they are all 3 different. I thought they were all for my car but when I dug them out of my storage I noticed that they are not the same. Two of them look the same except that the piece that is attached to the frame. They are 180 degrees out from each other making the angle portion go up for one and down for the other.
I hope this makes sense...not too sure after reading it...LOL

Oh they are supposed to be for a 66 Fairlane 2DR HT with power steering.

I have added a picture of the two that are 180 out. Maybe someone just put one together wrong but which one. hmmmmmm.

Thanks,
Dennis

i know that power vs manual steering makes a difference, but i'm not sure about 66 vs 67. if you know the part numbers on the idler arms you can check compatibility that way.

Rockauto shows Moog K8159 for 66 all and 67 PS.

However, Autokrafters shows different numbers for 66, 67-69 MS, and 67-69, PS.

Perkdog, wish I saw this post before I got to work this morning, I've got a 66 289 with PS also. I'll check mine out and let you know what it looks like. I might be able to take a picture and post that.

Re: 66/67 idler arms ?

here's the photo Perk....that was a pain getting that shot! LOL!!! I don't know what to tell you since mine is different then the two you show. I'd be guessing which one is right for your car but now you have a picture to show the parts guy. I'm thinking go with the one in my picture if you can find one.

Re: 66/67 idler arms ?

Perk, did some searching and found one that looks like mine.....

Coolparts.com
1-866-480-2751
Part number (MG-K8159) $55.63

Go and check it out and it looks like the same idle arm for all different engine sizes too.

Re: 66/67 idler arms ?

Thanks Rick, I just happen to have one just like that also but since it was completely different than the other two I wasn't so sure about it. I will put it on and call it a done deal.
Again, thanks for your help.

Perk, I did some more checking and it seems to me those other two idle arms you have are for a 67, glad to have helped.
