63 Dash Pad

Can a person remove the dash pad from the 63 fairlane, and just have a metal dash? Not being a expert in the older Fairlanes I do not know if some came with out dash pads.

Re: 63 Dash Pad

my 63 sportscoupe had a vinyl dash pad and was removed, lucky for me that they left the chorme trim in place all thou the trim has gaps in some places. I bought a used dash pad on e-bay in really good condition, cheap !!!! I think Dennis Carpenter sells reproductions... But the answer to your question is yes and they look good IMOP... but if your dash pad is good condition they are hard to come by and expensive...-mel-

Re: 63 Dash Pad

In 63 only the high buck ones came with padding. That was a $10 option. LOL Yours will have some extra holes for the chrome trim. Fill the holes or make the trim work. And Make sure you have seat belts and USE THEM so your loved ones will not hit that dash. I have some nice padding but did not use it when I tried to hit my head on the dash while buckled in. Can't do it but some here may think I did hit the dash.
