Re: 302 to FE swap
WHy in the hell do you need 500 HP? Why can't you use that 352? It will have a TON MORE HP than the stock 302, and FOUR TIMES the Torque
I think it's overkill to have to have 500 HP in a car that you're street driving...
But it's definitely NOT overkill to put a 352 in a itty bitty car like a Mustang or a Pinto
Am I not agreeing with myself again?

Even worse is when he enlisted in the navy we drove it down to scrap yard to junk it since no one wanted it. 2 door HT . That was mid 1970's.

Don't let the fact that an old guy kicked your butt be the guide.... One of my biggest joys used to spanking "Camaros, Chevelle - any "hot" car, in my Galaxie. If you don't know what the other guy is driving, what is under the hood - you might want to ask somebody! By the time we get to the next light, you can bet the owner and his bud are going to pay just a little more attention to who they call out the next time. You would be surprised how many 'ol Dudes still have a little rebel under that thin veneer of respectablity.
II have learned a few awkward lessons along the way too. I remember getting spanked by a 70' something Mercedes coupe which "dared" to rev his engine at the light. I figured I would teach him a quick lesson - come to find out he didn't need any more 'skooling' ... Apparently he knew something that I didn't - that thing was unreal, but to look at it, you would think it was just another " road boulder", a lump in the road keeping other folks from going about their business.

Thats the thing my 302 is not stock. Far from it... very far...$8000 to far from stock, but I blew it up. Either way I started buying parts for my stroker. And your right 500 hp is way to much for a street car. I don't race and I don't run around burning tires, kinda outgrown that stuff, but it is always fun to have too much power under foot. hell one of these days I hope to have a 1000hp twin turbo just because I can. There is nothing more american then being loud and to powerful. Thats why I wear the uniforn everyday. HAHAHAHA!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

WOW!!! Took me 9 years to find and officer that I agree with!!! 500 is not enough...Thats the problem with power, ya get hooked with 300, and then you want more... next thing you know you are selling everything in your house just to get the money for a supercharger. Horse power its kinda like Crack(only legal). We might have to talk about building an FE. I always wanted a big block car and I always said if I built one it would be a 514 stroker, but after all the research i did on the FE I have to admit I'm in love. It really is a cool motor. After I get my fairlane running again, I think I will build a 427 and throw it in my 87 GT. And I will bring my wallet. 13 more classes to go and I will join the Dark Side I'll get that 0-1E pay and then I'll be a Lt building a 427 in the hobby shop. thanks for all the info!

I was with a different guy in the same era. He had a 2000 Datsun roadster. We were coming back from the Elkhart Lake race track at about 110 MPH. That was very close to flat out. We passed a Mercedes {your buddy?] and flew on by. My buddy said there are lights catching us. That Mercedes blew past us. And with that you can put your glass of wine on the console and punch that 352 and know it will not tip over. Any motorcycle over 100cc will put a 352 on the trailer. I have probably been in over a dozen 352 powered cars and the only way whip lash will be a problem is if you get rear ended. Maybe a 200 shot of nitrous would give you an honest 225 HP.
